Our company was registered in April 1981 and operated from a small retail outlet in St. Venera. Working with some of the best known names in the interior décor business endowed the two directors, Anthony Brincat and Joseph Portelli, with the experience and knowledge needed to enable them to carefully venture into the manufacturing sector to expand and lead in interior décor products in Malta.

Their first factory premises was situated in Mriehel, where they started producing vertical and roller blinds, PVC folding doors and aluminium shower cubicles. After the factory was set up, it was evident that better distribution of sales should next be taken into consideration as a priority; so, besides refurbishing the shop in St. Venera, three other shops were opened,  in Mosta, Fgura and another one in San Gwann. This way the company was now strategically positioned to meet demand from all parts of Malta. Commission agents were also appointed to distribute and sell products in Gozo.

Following this rapid growth, the directors visited several international fairs throughout Europe to introduce new products. They managed to secure sole agency agreements with established companies such as Louver-Lite Ltd (UK); Rasch Gmbh & Co. (Germany); NMC sa (Belgium); Forte srl (Italy); Rockwool S/A (Denmark) and other well known companies. The distribution of these products in Malta was a great success. Portelli & Brincat Ltd. were appointed sole distributors of all their products for Middle East countries.

With a commitment to provide quality service to their customers, Portelli & Brincat Ltd. also started to provide installation of their vast range of products. This obviously demanded an increase in their work force and transportation. To date, the company has 25 full time employees as well as many other sub-contractors.

This steady expansion made it necessary to move to a new larger premises. These were inaugurated in January 1996 and are situated in Triq il-Kukkanja, St.Venera. These comprise an elegant administration block and a factory equipped with state of the art machinery able to meet today’s demand of production quality and design. The company is also able to provide for any type of turnkey project in Malta or abroad.
